Golfer dies during labour

The golf fraternity is mourning the death of one of their own, Mehta Golf Club's Betty Alikyogera who passed away on Saturday at Kawolo Hospital as she gave birth.

Sources say she did not get adequate attention and died together with the baby.

The handicap 12 golfer was buried Sunday in Kalagi-Kayunga.

She has been was one of the prominent upcoming lady golfers and a regular competitor in Uganda Ladies Golf Union ladies organised and tournaments especially in Lugazi, Kampala Entebbe and Jinja.
