Museveni commends the people of Agago

He said he will be glad to meet the people of Agago in his home in Rwakitura or at State House in Entebbe for a chat

 

President Yoweri Museveni on Saturday commended the people of Agago district for supporting the NRM party.

Museveni was in the district to commission David Fagerlee Medical Centre in Adilang, Agago district funded by an American businessman after whose name the medical unit is named.

Agago district chairperson Leonard Opio Ojok prayed that God protects the President and give him good health so that he continues to lead.

He said Agago gave Museveni massive support in the 2016 election, giving him 60% of the vote compared to other districts in the region.

"This is a clear demonstration of the love that the people of Agago have for you" he said.

He said NRM supporters want to invite Museveni to be the chief guest during victory celebration in Lapono Sub County which gave him 78% of the votes in the 2016 polls.

He also requested for another county to be called Agago West comprising of Lira Palwo, Arum, Omot, Lamiyo among others.

Museveni on his part congratulated the people of Agago for supporting and electing NRM.

He highlighted the achievements of the NRM one of which he said was restoring peace in the region which was a big challenge.

"Peace is now here, some people are saying they are tired of kuc, they want more war. For me, I love peace because I am now enjoying myself" he said.

Museveni said he will be glad to meet the people of Agago in his home in Rwakitura or at State House in Entebbe and chat with them.

Ojok also appealed to the President to intervene and prevail over Uganda Wildlife Authority to contain wild animals that stray into people's gardens, destroying crops.
