Movie star Susan Sarandon jets in for education cause

A legendary American actress, Susan Sarandon is expected to jet in  today.

She is an Academy Award and BAFTA Award winner who is also known for her social and political activism for a variety of causes.

During the time of her visit, she will be visiting schools like Hope North School, where she is actively involved in some education projects.

Hope North School located in Gulu is a school for former child-soldiers and orphans.

The school's executive director, Sam Okello Kelo said Susan is a great supporter of North School.

"She is very keen in supporting the education of the children in Uganda and Hope North in particular," said Okello.

She will address a press conference at Roots Retreat and Camping Resort in Kitende Lumuli, Entebbe Road to share the purpose of her visit to the country.

The 70-year-old has featured in movies like Atlantic City, Thelma and Louise, Dead man walking, The Client, Little women and Moonlight Mile among others.
