Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin Sredojević says he is not quitting his job yet, refuting claims he is in talks with a Libyan club for a more lucrative coaching job in North Africa.

The Serbian has a running contract with Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) until 2018.

However, there has been uncertainty over his job for some time now, with some reports suggesting he is not satisfied with his current pay.

News of his impending departure was broken by Makindye West MP Allan Ssewanyana, who disclosed that Micho had agreed terms with a Libyan club (names withdrawn) to join them this month.

He claimed that last week's game in which Uganda Cranes played out a goalless draw with South Sudan in the CHAN qualification was his last.

But Micho has taken to social media to quickly hit back, saying such allegations are wide of the mark. He assured Ugandans that he is fully committed to his job.

"I politely request HON. SEWANYANA to not mix me with politics," he tweeted.

Micho, as he is popularly known, said he is a professional who knows the right channels of ending ties with his employers. "If I go I will call [a] farewell press conference," he wrote.

For now, Micho says his target is to see that Uganda, who he helped qualify for African Cups of Nations (AFCON) finals after 39 years of trying, qualifies again for the 2019 tournament.

The tournament will be held in Cameroon.

The gaffer is also hopeful that Uganda can qualify for the World Cup.
