Lwamafa, Obey and Kunsa granted bail

Jimmy Lwamafa, former PS, Christopher Obey, former principal accountant and Steven Kiwanuka Kunsa, former director pensions and compensations were granted bail pending their appeal challenging the Anti-Corruption Court’s decision in which they were ordered to serve jail terms 7, 10 and 5 years respectively.

Deputy Chief Justice Steven Kavuma has granted bail to three former public service ministry officials, who were recently convicted of embezzlement of sh88b from government.

Jimmy Lwamafa, former PS, Christopher Obey, former principal accountant and Steven Kiwanuka Kunsa, former director pensions and compensations were granted bail pending their appeal challenging the Anti-Corruption Court's decision in which they were ordered to serve jail terms 7, 10 and 5 years respectively.

However, their excitement did not last longer as later the prison officers just ordered them to return to the vehicle that had brought them to court and were returned to prison as they are still battling the sh15b charges in court.
