UK to train Ugandan doctors

The Director of the Uganda UK health Alliance, Moses Mulimira is currently in Gulu district with a team of experts on a fact finding mission to assess the competencies of the medical personnel in Gulu Hospital who are going to be used in the exchange programme
Uganda medical practioners are to get a chance to travel to the UK for training and to get more experience under an exchange programme organized by the Uganda UK Health Alliance.
The Director of the Uganda UK health Alliance, Moses Mulimira is currently in Gulu district with a team of experts on a fact finding mission to assess the competencies of the medical personnel in Gulu Hospital who are going to be used in the exchange programme.
The team includes Moses Mulimira , Jonathan Brown the chief finance operations officer NHS global health exchange and Kerrin Waite senior programme officer NHS. Before heading to Gulu the team met the permanent secretary ministry of health Dr Diane Atwine .
Mulimira who also heads the health portfolio on the NRM Diaspora League Interim committee, said that the overall idea of their visit is to promote health in Uganda through experience and training.
"Under this programme, Medical practitioners from Uganda will travel to UK for training and acquiring more experience and in exchange their colleagues from UK will come to Uganda and work in our hospitals for a specific period", said Mulimira.
Moses Kimuli the interim spokesperson NRM diaspora league said Mr Patrick Assimwe it's interim chairman has delegated people for different roles depending on their capabilities and this will yield results soon.
He said that they have identified tourism and health sectors as some of their top priorities to support as Ugandans in the diaspora on top of attracting investors to come to Uganda.
