Uganda v Malawi (today at 2pm) at Lugogo arena

KAMPALA - After mauling Botswana in their first match in the Africa Netball Championships, Uganda continued the trend against Namibia with a 69-31 sparkling performance at the Lugogo arena on Sunday.

Coach Vincent Kiwanuka continued with his rotation and he brought back Rachael Nanyonga (goal attack) to partner Peace Proscovia, a partnership that was ever so successful in the 2015 Netball World Cup.

He has in recent matches preferred Uganda Prisons goal attack (GA) Hadijjah Nakabuye to Nanyonga. The latter was very impressive and may have given him a thing or two to ponder going into the match against Malawi.

Malawi has recently brought in their arsenal to bolster their ranks, especially after the two losses to Uganda in the friendlies. Manchester Thunder goal shooter (GS) Joyce Mvula, Joanna Kachilika, and centre Bridget Kumwenda will all be around for this one.

Uganda will go into this one with all the confidence in the world following a four-match winning streak they are currently enjoying.

Centre Betty Kizza will have to continue with the intensity that she has exhibited in the two matches she has played.

Kizza who was actively involved only with the under 21s was promoted to the senior team and has made the position hers in the absence of Ruth Meme.

The under-21 player has played with confidence and has looked lively on both ends of the court in attack and defence.

Nakabuye will probably come in for Nanyonga on Monday afternoon against Malawi and Stella Nafuka will come back at goal keeper (GK).

The goal keeper hasn't been rested a lot in the last week so Mubiru started Wyclif Natweta in GK but reverted back to Nanfuka after the first quarter.

Uganda can't afford to dally because the Malawian side they will face is much changed and will be baying for blood.

The She Cranes need an impressive work ethic if they are to come out on top of the Queens of Malawi as the top two seeds in the tournament meet later today.
