Kenya wins on Aggregate 56-51.

The Rugby Cranes held Kenya to 33-33 draw in the Elgon Cup return leg in Nairobi on Saturday.

The Cranes lost to the Kenyans 23-18 in Kampala, a fortnight ago.

Philip Wokorach was on form as he scored all the penalties and conversions the team got but a penalty-try at the last minute broke down the Cranes who had kept the fans on the edge on their seats.

Wokorach gave Uganda 3-0 early lead through a penalty before Charles Uhuru added a try and then a conversion by Wokorach to stretch to a 10-0 lead in the 12th minute of the first half.

Kenya replied with a penalty courtesy of Darwin Mukidza and a try by Jacob Ojee to close the gap to 10-8.

Kenya added a try to lead 13-10 but Uganda replied with a penalty by Philip Wokorach to level 13-13 before Kenya's Simbas Mukidza added a penalty to hand Kenya a 16-13 half time lead.

In the second half, Kenya mounted pressure but Uganda withstood all that was thrown at them to score a try by Brian Asaba and a later a conversion by Wokorach to reclaim a 20-16 lead.

However, Kenya fought back with a try by Jacob Ojee then Mukidza added a conversion and then penalty for Kenya to reclaim a 26-20 lead.

With less than five minutes to the end of the game, the referee awarded a penalty try to Kenya and Mukidza added a conversion to level 33-33.

"Yes this was our game but again Kenya survived. we are going back to the drawing board to correct a few things before we face Senegal," Coach Sseguya stated.

Uganda will now Kenya, Senegal, Tunisia, Zimbabwe and Namibia in the Rugby Africa Cup.

Philip Wokorach was again voted man of the match. Last year, Wokorach was voted man of the match in the return leg of the Elgon Cup in Nairobi
