Olila High School wins FUFA Women Cup

Olila High School Women Football club are the inaugural champions of the FUFA Women Cup.

The Soroti side beat Gafford Ladies 3-1 in a penalty shootout after 1 all draw in the final held at Madibira Primary school playground in Busia district on Sunday.

Evelyn Kakayi scored for Gafford Ladies in the first half through an header before Olila leveled the scores nine minutes into the second half after Gafford Ladies' goalkeeper Elsie Najjemba brought down Olila's Fazilah Ikwaput in the box.

Cissy Nantongo scored the resultant penalty to send the game into a penalty shootout.

The knock out competition was introduced this year to give a chance to teams that do not take part in the league to be competitive.
