"I will report you to my Dad, my Paapa will beat you," are the threats you will hear as children engage in small fights over toys.

Such phrases clearly show how children adore their fathers as symbols of security; protection especially. Unfortunately, such good attributes about fathers are never heard of beyond the children play areas.

To commemorate Fathers' Day on 18th June, Sunday Vision in partnership with Shell Uganda, JESA, Table Affairs, Mashalla Foods and SWT rice under the theme: "How to be the best Dad," has organized a fathers' Day cooking competition dubbed "Father's Day Cook off"

To enter the competition readers are required to email stories about special moments they have shared with their fathers to Sunday@newvision.co.ug . The dead line for entry into the completion is Monday June 5th.

According to Hajara Batuuka, the marketing manager print, writers of the best ten published stories will have a chance to participate in a cooking completion alongside their dads with lots of fabulous prizes up for grabs.

"Sunday Vision being a family paper, we want to champion the cause of being a good Dad and also let the children tell the best things their fathers have done for them," Osike said.
