"About a week ago, he fell in the corridor between his bedroom and sitting room and hit his head on a wall. He remained unattended to for close to 20 minutes. By the time they saw him, blood had started clotting," her daughter Maria Justine Tulina said.

According to Tulina, her father was rushed him to Norvik Hospital where he was treated when he was involved in an accident last year.

"The scan revealed internal bleeding and doctors promised that they would manage it and saw no need of referring him to Nairobi," she explained.

She said that doctors concentrated on treating the head injury which was healing but got a cardiac arrest breathing his last early Sunday morning.

Mukiibi was born on February 20 1948 to Petri Kimuli Ssemakula and Zabeti Nabawanuka in Kibinge, Bukomansimbi. He died at the age of 69.
