Uganda's second disappointing loss of the tournament to Oman can only translate into a seemingly mission impossible campaign for the hosts.

The 6 wickets loss to Oman Friday at Kyambogo oval automatically sends Uganda at the very bottom of the six team log. That is that!

However, despite the fact that the Cricket Cranes are so far receiving the shortest end of the stick, other results of the day have brought in an element of mathematics in the contest.

The top three teams Canada, Singapore and Oman are equal on points (four) but only separated by net run rate hence keeping the tournament open.

Similarly, the last three teams USA, Malaysia and Uganda are tied on two points, still separated by the net run rate.

So, in order for Uganda to progress to the top two, they must win their two remaining round robin fixtures, underline must! It doesn't end there; they will then pray the top three lose at least one game for Uganda to get back in the equation.

The hosts face Malaysia Saturday (tomorrow), a side that has just picked their first win of the tournament against Canada at Entebbe Oval.

Singapore recovered from their loss to Uganda on Wednesday in a dramatic game against USA at Lugogo oval.Chasing 238, Arjun Mutreja struck the first century of the tournament (101) not out  from 119 balls as the USA lost by 7 wickets.

In conclusion, the Cricket Cranes may not have their destiny in their hands as it stands. It is more to do with hope and luck now.
