Ramadhan starts Saturday

Kakungulu who had on Wednesday asked Muslims in Uganda to watch the skies has since confirmed that the moon has not been sighted as had been expected.

The Director of Sharia Uganda Muslim Supreme Council Sheikh Yahaya Ibrahim Kakungulu has announced that fasting for this year's holy month of Ramadhan will commence on Saturday.

Kakungulu who had on Wednesday asked Muslims in Uganda to watch the skies has since confirmed that the moon has not been sighted as had been expected.

During the 30 days of fasting,  UMSC announced that Taraweh prayers at the National Mosque will be observed every evening starting at 8:30pm throughout the holy month of Ramadhan.

The Ramadhan Darasas will be conducted every Sunday starting at 10:00am
