Kireka, Dmark to play in the African Chess Championships

The 2017 edition will be the first time that Uganda will be taking part.

Kireka and Dmark Chess Clubs will represent Uganda at 2017 African Club Championships slated for July 23 in Egypt.

The two teams qualified for the tournament after they finished in the top two positions in the National Chess League, with Kireka toping the table and Dmark finishing second. 

The 2017 edition will be the first time that Uganda will be taking part in the African club chess championships.

Every federation sends two teams to the tournament, each comprising of four players and  a reserve.
