Every year, Uganda celebrates the lives of the Uganda Martyrs on 3rd June.

This year, in conjunction with the Episcopal Conference of Catholic Bishops in Uganda, Uganda Tourism Board has organized a remembrance walk to deepen believers' faith and to show more commitment to the Uganda Martyrs, Africa's fi rst black Martyrs.

The annual walk of faith - 2017 Edition shall be fl agged off at 7.30am on Saturday, 27th May 2017 at Munyonyo Martyrs Shrine where St. Andrew Kaggwa, the Patron Saint for Teachers and Catechists was murdered.

Andrew was a former slave captured from the organizing Diocese of Hoima and was Kabaka Mwanga's bandmaster general.
