Nakawa Chief Magistrate’s Court has further remanded 22 suspects including a woman accused over the murder of the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Andrew Felix Kaweesi, his body guard and driver.
This was after state Attorney Lillian Anyango informed court presided over by grade one magistrate Noah Ssejjabi that inquiries into the case are still ongoing.
“Your worship, inquiries in the case are still ongoing, we pray that the accused be further remanded,” Anyango said.
The magistrate remanded the accused to Luzira Prisons until June 1, 2017, when they will re-appear in court to know the status of the investigations in their case.
Prosecution alleges that the accused and others still at large on March 17, 2017 conspired to murder Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Andrew Felix Kaweesi, his body guard Kenneth Erau and driver Geoffrey Mambewo in the city suburbs of Kulambiiro.
The trio was murdered by unknown assailants traveling on motorcycles in Kulambiro in Wakiso district.
