The USAID-funded Uganda IRS Phase II Project's objective is to conduct a comprehensive spraying program and establish the foundation for sustainable, effective, high-quality indoor residual spraying (IRS) activities. Abt Associates, the prime contractor of this program seeks to recruit a suitably qualifi ed candidate to fill the positions below:

FINANCE OFFICER

Location: Tororo, Uganda

Reporting to: Finance Manager

Specific responsibilities include:

Maintain the fi ling of all fi nancial and accounting documents, files, and correspondence. Assist the Finance Manager with compiling the documentation for the monthly financial reports in accordance with Abt Associates procedures and policies to be forwarded for final review to the Finance Manager.

Assists with recording expenditures, income, and any other related transactions, in the Abt site offi ce fi nancial tracking/recording program (currently Quick books).

Assist the Finance Manager to ensure the books of accounts are up to date at all times, orderly, well kept, and readily available for reference and audit, when required.

Assist the Finance Manager with drafting offi cial project correspondence and composing routine correspondence to vendors, bank, partners, etc. Assist the Finance Manager in the handling payments at events/workshops, trainings, and other activities.

Assist the Finance Manager in compiling estimates for the monthly cash projections for review by the Finance Manager. Assists the Finance Manager in the implementation of the internal control system and fi nancial procedures manual of the company.

Maintains a log of VAT vouchers and submits the vouchers to USAID as required. Provide any other support to the Finance Manager as need arises.
