30 medical workers arrested over illegal assembly

The Police have arrested over 30 private medical workers over illegal assembly at Uganda Railways Grounds in Kampala.

The operation was spearheaded by DPC Bakaleke who told the medical workers that they had not got clearance from the Inspector General of Police Gen Kale Kayihura.

The medical workers under their umbrella body Kampala Private Medical Practitioners were planning to hold a peaceful demonstration over what they called triple tax demanded by Kampala Capital City Authority in form of trading license.

Bakale said the arrested medical workers will be charged for holding unlawful assembly.
