12 murdered during Easter festive season

12 people were murdered during the Easter period in 10 districts across the country.

Among the districts where such cases were reported include Kampala, Hoima, Nakapiripiriti, Serere, and Butalejja among others. Reasons for murder include domestic wrangle and mob justice among others. 

Police spokesperson Asan Kasingye says that despite the high number of murder cases which were reported during the Easter period, police tried it's best to avert more grievous cases from happening.

Kasingye adds that over 10 suspects were arrested in connection to those cases and investigations are under way to find evidence incriminating the culprits before they are arraigned in courts of law.

"Generally, the country was very secure albeit some of these incidents that took place here and there," said Kasingye.
