Pool goes to the polls on 8th May

Former Pool Association of Uganda (PAU) president Farouk Kisuze has confirmed the election of the executive will be conducted on May 8.

The election process according to Kisuze is already underway with the registration of clubs and only pre-existing clubs will be registered.

Those that have interest in leadership have already begun picking nomination forms.

"For those that are interested in leadership positions, they have been tasked with picking nomination forms and have to return them by the end of this week" Kisuze said.

They will then be subjected to a vetting process by members of the interim committee who won't be running for office.

Among the requirements for those who will be vetted is a Uganda Certificate of Education and a person should have previously held a leadership position with a club.

After, the process those who will have successfully been vetted will be announced on May 1st and an extraordinary assembly will be called on May 8th.

"The purpose of the extra ordinary assembly will only be for one reason only; to elect an executive" Kisuze added.

He also made it known that the new executive will have to get to work very quickly to try and get the association up and running fast, especially for the league that should have commenced in March.
