Over 30 schools are expected to take part in this year’s edition

Badminton and table tennis are the new disciplines that have been introduced in this year's Uganda Muslim Education Association (UMEA) solidarity games.

Only Muslim founded Secondary Schools under their umbrella association UMEA take part in these games.

Welden and Nyamitanga Secondary Schools in Mbarara will host this year's event starting this Friday. But teams will be expected to report on Thursday.

"We are rotating the games to have a unique national character. Through such games, talent is identified,"stated Hajj Twahil Kitezaala the chairman UMEA Sports Committee.

Over 30 schools are expected to take part in this year's edition and will tussle it out in football, netball, handball and Volleyball.

Kibuli Secondary school are defending champions. They won the netball and handball (boys and girls) titles last year. They were followed by the hosts Masaka who lifted both football titles (boys and girls).

Mbogo Mixed walked away with the boys title in volleyball while Kinaawa Mugongo took the girls category.
