Mbarara City cemented their play-off slot as they thrashed rivals Nyamityobora 4-1 in the Rwenzori group of the FUFA Big League.

The victory left them second in the group with 42 points, five below Masavu who were already promoted to the Azam Uganda Premier League.

Striker Brian Ahebwa scored four goals at Kakyeeka Stadium as Mbarara City registered their 12th win this season.

Clinton Kamugisha scored a consolation for Nyamityobora as they remained fourth with 35 points,five below third  placed Synergy who beat Entebbe 1-0 at Masaka Recreation ground.

So Mbarara City and Synergy will represent Rwenzori group in the play-offs.

In the Elgon group, Simba settled for 3-3 draw with Kira United at Mashariki High school playground while Baza Holdings beat Kireka United 1-0 away at Namboole stadium.

At Kyambogo. Water drew 0-0 with Hope Doves.
