He hopes to have a lasting impact in the HSBC Hong Kong Sevens

This time last year Buzz Black Pirates fullback Timothy Kisiga was watching reruns of his favourite shows during the long senior six vacation while waiting to join university.

Today the 19-year-old first year student of Software Engineering at Makerere University has been called up to represent Uganda at the HSBC Sevens Hong Kong qualifiers.

The young fullback's match wining and fearless performances for the Pirates have catapulted him to the National Sevens side in just a few months of competition. The wonder kid has admitted the call up got him a little nervous but excitement has taken over.

"Initially I was very nervous but right about now, I am very excited about this whole experience," he admitted.

When asked about the huge opportunity that has come his way before his 20th birthday, he like any other teenager seeks to quell any reference to his age but his enthusiasm shines through regardless.

"I feel so grown up you know, never in my wildest dreams did I ever see this thing turning out the way it has," an excited Kisiga remarked.

He hopes to have a lasting impact in the tournament by helping with the teams try scoring as Uganda bids to qualify for the HSBC Rugby Sevens circuit.

The Pirates player's mental agility, passing range and ball handling skills are top notch which is possibly why he sees himself help the team with try scoring.

"I expect to help with our try scoring finesse given the opportunity," he intoned.

Uganda has been drawn in Group E alongside Germany, Tonga and Jamaica the matches will be played on April 7th.
