Masavu clinches promotion to Uganda Premier League

Rivals Mbarara City lost 4-2 to Airtel Kitara in Hoima

Masavu Football Club has been promoted to the Azam Uganda Premier League.

The Entebbe based side's qualification to the top flight came after their rivals Mbarara City lost 4-2 to Airtel Kitara in Hoima today evening.

This means Mbarara City remained third in the Rwenzori Group with 33 points, two and thirteen behind second placed Nyamityobora and Masavu respectively.

Masavu and Nyamityobora have three games each to end the season while Mbarara City has four.

In the Elgon Group, Maroons need one point in their final two games to qualify automatically.

They top the group with 42 points, six ahead of second placed Ndejje.
