Known for their unreserved hunger for success, and after losing Kami Kabange who has been an integral part of the team over the past four years; it was a matter of time before officially announcing what has been talk in the corridors.

"I'm very happy today to announce that Stephen Omony is part of the City Oil Basketball Club. We are excited to have him; he is a winner and one of the most decorated basketball players in Uganda, and captain of the national team," club president Mohammed Santur said.

"After losing Kami Kabange to Rwanda we think we have got a perfect match in Omony. As we worked for the national team we became close and it was easy for him to accept to join us. He brings a lot to the table; leadership, mental toughness and professionalism," Santur stated.

He thanked the chairman of Mandela Group of Companies, Ahmed Mandela, and all directors for allowing them sign the player.
