Express kept hopes of winning the club's first silverware in last five years alive by progressing to the quarterfinals of the Uganda Cup.

The Red Eagles, who won a league title in 2012, beat nine-man Masavu 2-0 at Wankulukuku Stadium on Saturday evening in the round of 32 of the knock out competition.

Captain Saddam Juma notched brace in the second half of the game as Express registered their third consecutive win across all competitions.

Masavu players Fred Umony and Lawrence Bakilanze were sent off

In Lugazi, Hamis Kiiza and Hudu Mulyiki each struck a double as URA eliminated JMC 5-1 at Metha Stadium.

Labama Bokota added the other for the Tax Collectors while Patrick Onyango scored a consolation for JMC.
