KAMPALA - The Rugby Cranes 7s team is not taking any chances ahead of the Hong Kong 7s due in April 7-9 that determine  whether they become permanent members of the 2017/2018 HSBC Sevens Series.

The team on Thursday focused on players' health and fitness levels by undergoing a massage session with team physiotherapist Noah Kayongo at Legends Rugby Club in Kampala.

"Today we had to massage their muscles so that they are okay and ready for any training by the coach and strength and conditioning coach," Kayongo told New Vision.

"We are doing well and, apart from Ivan Magomu who has a knee problem, all other players are ready to go and the coach will select them basing on other factors but not injury."

Coach Tolbert Onyango will be naming the final 14-man squad - 12 traveling and two non-traveling players - on Tuesday.

Eighteen players are in training:

Ramathan Govule, Odongo, Eric Kasiita, Alhajji Manano, Byron Oketayot, Philip Wokorach, Kevin Keremundu, Adrian Kasito, Solomon Okias, Pius Ogena, James Odongo, James Mugisha, Fred Odour, Daudi Ssemwami, Desire Ayera, Ian Munyani, Timothy Kisiga, Michael Wokorach and Lawrence Ssebuliba.
