BUL fined for crowd trouble

The club was further warned on the future conduct of their fans with the threat of tougher sanctions

BUL FC has been fined sh400,000 by the Uganda Premier League for fan violence.

This comes after fans hurled rocks onto the pitch during and after BUL 's 2-1 loss to Vipers on March 3rd at Kakindu Stadium in Jinja.

"Reference is made to the Referee's Report and witnesses of persons of authority for the above mentioned match that was played on Friday 3rd March 2017 at Kakindu Stadium - Jinja which indicate that fans of BUL FC threw stones on the field of play in the 58th minute and that the same fans invaded the field of play at the end of the match and again threw stones at the match officials" the statement released by Uganda Premier League CEO Bernard Bainamani stated.

"The UPL Secretariat has accordingly fined BUL FC 400 UAs (four hundred thousand shillings) for failure to manage their violent fans. The fine should be paid to the UPL Secretariat by Tuesday 28th March 2017," the statement added.
