Friday semifinal fixture

Uganda v Rwanda (8:00pm EAT)

CAIRO - Uganda Silverbacks are enjoying a walk in the park at the FIBA AfroBasket Zone 5 Qualifiers in Cairo, Egypt.

Mandy Juruni's side had an explosive start to the qualifiers after registering an impressive 94-72 victory over Somalia on Monday.

On Wednesday, the Silverbacks did it again. This time against Burundi.

Uganda relied on a collective scoring effort to hammer Burundi 99-54 and qualify for the semifinals, where they take on archrivals Rwanda later on Friday.

This leaves them one victory away from qualifying for a successive AfroBasket, with the 2017 edition slated for Congo Brazzaville this August.

The men's finalists both qualify for the continental showpiece. Egypt are massive favourites against Burundi in the other semi-final.

Burundi were overwhelmed by Uganda's multiple offensive weapons, with four Silverbacks scoring in double figures.

US-based foward Adarius Pegues scored in double figures with 14 points and 11 rebounds while City Oilers' Otim Jonah nailed a game high 16 points to lead their team to a second victory in Cairo.

Captain Steven Omony and Ivan Lumanyika added 10 points apieace to a sweet Ugandan win.

Burundi were held to three points in the second quarter.
