As a very disappointing season for the Makerere Impis draws to a close, the university side has to come to terms with the fact that there is a boulder-size difference between them and top teams in the league.

The financial muscle that the top teams are able to flex is so great that all the ones at the bottom of the table can only play a supporting cast role to them.

Impis team manager Patrick Omoding is already looking to restructure for the next season as an answer to his team's woes.

"Our season has generally been poor, which is why we have started restructuring with the aim to improve against all the top teams for next season."

Omoding clearly rang in the changes with the deployment of new faces against Sadolin Mongers suffice they couldn't hold off the charge by the latter.

"We are bringing in new faces with the aim of taking a new direction next season although it's a work in progress and with the financial situation we have we can only do as much."

Being a university side, Impis are solely funded by the university at the moment and all their options can only be found within the university.

They don't have the luxury to reign in changes with the better players because they can't compete financially with these teams.

One thing the manager reiterated above all else is that their aim is to grow the sport.

"Against Mongers we brought a couple of players in who didn't get the opportunity to play in the previous match. Our aim really is to grow the sport," emphasized Omoding.

Impis for one are indeed helping to grow the sport but without any deep pockets to retain players they find their best players moving on to better clubs and they just keep the tag of being a feeder club.
