Kabale High Court acquires new premises

High Court, before acquiring this structure has been operating from Makanga in Kabale municipality where it shared space with the Chief Magistrates Court.

While presiding over the launch of the new structure, Justice Moses Kazibwe Kawumi, the Kabale High Court judge said that the structure will enable them perform better than before since it is larger than the previous structure.

Kazibwe said that despite the successful step they have taken, they still lack electricity at the new faccility.

 
"Electricity was not installed in this structure but we have written to Rural Electrification Agency to consider us as soon as possible. We shall use a generator," said Kazibwe.

Kazibwe further expressed the need of a library at the court premises to enable the officers study while there.

Monica Muhumuza, the Kabale senior probation officer, while speaking at the same function hailed the judiciary for acting professionally and for not clashing with other authorities in the execution of their duties.

The construction of teh new building was commissioned in May 2014. It was constructed by Hebron Investments at sh700m funded by the Justice, Law and Order sector.
