The outgoing executive ensured Uganda won the battle to host the ICC World Cricket League Division III

Outgoing Uganda Cricket Association (UCA) chairman Richard Mwami feels he was a "decent achiever" during his five year tenure at the helm of Ugandan cricket.

He made the remarks during the executive handover, passing on instruments of power to his successor Bashir ‘Badu' Ansasira on Tuesday evening at Cooper Chimney Restaurant in Lugogo.

"We have left cricket in good hands and I should say my successor has gathered enough knowledge as he was my vice president, therefore he's not a stranger in administrative matters" Mwami said.

Reflecting on his time in office, he pointed out that for the five years, his team achieved quite a lot despite the inevitable short comings.

The outgoing executive ensured Uganda won the battle to host the ICC World Cricket League Division III which is due in May, which is arguably the biggest international cricket event ever hosted by Uganda.

Mwami himself was at the fore, arranging meetings of ICC officials and sports authorities in the country including the First Lady Janet Museveni.

"The World Cricket League Division III will definitely offer a good platform for the new executive to build on going forward" he added.
