Aucho joins Red Star Belgrade

Uganda Cranes midfielder Khalid Aucho has joined Serbian side Red Star Belgrade after parting ways with South Africa's Baroka FC.

The midfield powerhouse is understood to have signed a six month renewable contract.

"Coming to coach in Africa I had a dream to have a player for my childhood team Red Star Belgrade. My dream became reality through Aucho Khalid" Uganda Cranes coach took to twitter to say.

Aucho was part of the Cranes team that took part in the just concluded  AFCON finals in Gabon where Cranes finished bottom of Group D.

Last year, Aucho underwent trials in Scotland with Aberdeen and teams from Sweden and Zambia had expressed interest in the player.

Aucho was released by Baroka alongside the Cranes captain Geoffrey Massa.​
