Pool star Alfred Gumikiriza looks to regain title

Former national pool open champion Alfred Gumikiriza has set his sights on winning the national title for the first time since 2012.

"I am looking to win the national championship again. I last won it in 2012, and finished third and second in 2013 and 2015 respectively," Gumikiriza said.

He believes his decent showing during the 2016 season will catapult him to his goal going forward.

"Last season I scored the highest number of goals in the senior league with 96 blacks but I became third because of lagging points," he said.

The veteran player also wants to help his club side Hot Pool to the league title. The Catalina based club came very close in 2016 but they
fell short in the final hurdle after the defeat by eventual Champions Scrap Buyers.
