Uganda's sole representative at Winter University Games pulls out

The 23 year old will now have to wait for the 2018 Winter Olympics

Uganda's only representative at the 28th Winter University games in Almaty, Kazakhstan Brolin Mawejje has pulled out of the competition after a heart attack on Saturday.

The US based student who was due to take part in the Snowboard men's slopestyle event on Sunday was advised by doctors to rest after tests revealed low blood levels and breath complications.

"Mawejje started complaining of dizziness and breath after a practice session before we knew it he couldn't move. It's a big blow for him but he will stabilize soon," explained Penninah Kabenge, president Association University Sports Uganda.

Mawejje a pre-med student, who has lived in the US since he was 12, was given the green light to represent Uganda by the Association University Sports Uganda after a visit to the country last October.

The 23 year old will now have to wait for the 2018 Winter Olympics slated for February 9 -23 in ‎Pyeongchang‎, South Korea.
