Sironko Woman Member of Parliament, Florence Nambozo on Monday clashed with security officers and accused them of beating up her voters.

Nambozo also accused Sironko's resident's district commissioner Moses Wamoto of using police and the army to arrest people, beat and lock them up without the consent of local leaders.

Nambozo and security officers clashed during a security meeting organized by Elgon Regional Police Commander Francis Chemusito Budadiri. The meeting at restoring peace in the area.

Nambozo expressed concern and demanded an apology from the police, Sironko RDC and UMEME officials.

"The concerned officers including the RDC should apologize to residents in Sironko because of the suffering they have caused to the people. You cannot turn our people into cows that you always beat and arrest them at any time you wish, " Nambozo said.

"Few months back security stormed my constituency and started beating up people because of early drinking. This time you are beating up and arresting people because of electricity," she added.

Nambozo, residents and other local's leaders have also demanded for the immediate transfer of the Sironko RDC, accusing him of using security personnel to mistreat residents.
