The Federation of Motorsport clubs of Uganda (FMU) has awarded its 2015/2016 best performers at a function held in Kampala.

Arthur Blick Snr and Darlington Bakunda were awarded with FMU presidential lifetime awards in motocross and motorsport respectively.

Blick Snr. is regarded as the father of Uganda's motocross and his family which includes Arthur Blick jr. and grandchildren have helped promote the sport.

Darlington Bakunda was awarded for his exceptional contribution to the development of both motocross and rallying in the country.

He started the Garuga Race Track and is the father of Unisan Bakunda, a former motocross rider and current for Arthur Blick Jr.

Youngster Ali Omar Yasser was the most outstanding personality of the year 2015 and 2016 in motorsport.

Besides winning the 2015 national motocross championship in the 85cc category, Omar finished second in the MX2 in 2016 and also participated in rallying using the buggy.
