The FIM East and Central Africa (FIM CAC) MX1 motocross champion Maxime Van Pee will compete in both the Kenyan and Ugandan national championships to get the sharpness required to win the African championship next year.
"My focus and target is to win the Africa championship that I lost to Ross Branch of Botswana. I can only do that by working harder to improve on my performance," Van Pee said in a New Vision interview.
"Because of little competition in Uganda, I will also compete in the Kenyan championship against their top riders Shivam and Tutu Maina as a way of preparing myself for the African championship."
Maxime acquired a KTM 450cc bike 2017 model with air suspension technology and an integrated power control system.
Maxime, 23, will compete against his elder brother Olivier Van Pee, Arthur Blick Jr, Asaf Natan, Barak Orland and Fatuh Kiggundu in the National championship.
