Sailing, wrestling federations not registered - NCS

No individual or group has shown interest in managing the games

National Council of Sports has advised anyone interested in managing Sailing, Wrestling, Blind Sports, Primary and Secondary Schools sports associations to apply to the council.

No individual or group has shown interest in managing the games despite NCS extending application deadline.

NCS has been battling with national federations and associations to comply with an Act that allows them to manage a sport of their interest.

Out of over 50 bodies, only 28 have complied and the chairman Bosco Onyik together with general secretary Nicholas Muramagi have since declared the above sports federations and associations free to be registered by any interested individuals.

"Anyone who fulfills our requirement will be allowed to manage Sailing, Wrestling, Blind Sports, Primary and Secondary Schools sports," Muramagi said.

NCS demands that any federations or associations managing sports in the country must acquire certificate of registration which legally mandates them to run the discipline.
