The cabinet of Rwenzururu kingdom has resolved to meet President Yoweri Museveni and negotiate with the government, especially on King Charles Wesley Mumbere's detention.

This was during the cabinet meeting that was chaired by the acting Prime Minister of the Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu, Johnson Thembo Kitsumbire this week.

Kingdom officials had met to discuss the fate of the kingdom.

Mumbere was on Tuesday charged with murder and remanded to Nalufenya Prison until December 13 when he would return to court for mention of his case.

Prosecution avers that King Mumbere killed Godfrey Kasimba, police constable in March.

He was arrested on Sunday at his Buhikira Royal Palace by Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF) in a joint operation with police and airlifted to Nalufenya prison in Jinja following fresh clashes that rocked Rwenzori region.

He, however, told journalists outside the Jinja Chief Magistrate that the charges levelled against him were fabricated.

Police is hold 137 suspects in the Kasese clashes arrested during the joint security operation last weekend.  These violent clashes left over 100 people dead.
