The Federation of Motorsport Club of Uganda (FMU) will continue helping Police to sensitize the masses on road safety in order to reduce road carnage.

FMU president Dusman Okee disclosed this at a road safety sensitization programme in Mabira Forest during the MOSAC rally in Jinja.

"We should not leave this role to only the police, but we have to take it up collectively so that those who have a biased mind against the police can learn from us and that is how we shall reduce road accidents," Okee stated.

"We call upon the public to be mindful of the safety measures taken by the transport service deliverers because if passengers don't mind about their lives, then there will be more road accidents," he added.

The regional traffic police officer, Grace Kiberu, welcomed FMU's initiative.

He urged members of the public to report the Subaru owners who drive badly on public roads.

This year FMU has carried out road safety campaign on Masaka, Hoima and Jinja Roads as a way of sensitizing the public on safety.
