Ex-footballers raid FUFA offices yet again

The group is claiming legitimacy to run football in the country

A group composed of mainly former footballers led by Dan Walusimbi has once again stormed the FUFA headquarters in Mengo demanding recognition by the defacto federation led by Moses Magogo.

They claimed they had the right to enter FUFA premises to discuss football matters but were barred by security at the premises before Police joined in.

After talks with Police, the group dispersed with some of them saying they had come in peace means for ‘normal business'.

The group is claiming legitimacy to run football in the country mainly based on the recent declaration by the National Council of Sports (NCS) which ruled that neither the defacto FUFA led by Magogo nor that of the group was cleared to run football in the country.

They are yet to submit full requirements to NCS to be granted an operating license.

On November 14, the group led by Walusimbi vandalised the FUFA offices before they were dispersed by Police.
