Uganda nominates Naamara for AU job

Uganda has fronted Dr. Warren Naamara for the post of Commissioner Social Affairs for the African Union Commission.

However, to get the job, Naamara, who is the current UNAIDS Country Director for Tanzania, will compete with other candidates from Zimbabwe, Sudan, Sierra Leone, Burundi and Malawi.

The current AU Commissioner for Social Affairs is Dr. Mustapha Sidiki Kaloko, who is from Sierra Leone.

The elections will take place in January next year during the AU summit in Ethiopia, Addis Ababa.
