October 31, 1998

President Yoweri Museveni commissioned the Century Bottling Company (CBC) plant in Mbarara town, whose shareholders included Coca Cola South African Bottling Company (SABCO) and the Bagalaaliwo family in Uganda.

While commissioning the plant, Museveni said the site of the Coca Cola plant in Mbarara was his battle ground during the 1972 liberation war against the regime of Idi Amin.
