He is alleged to have mismanaged over sh912,000.

The future of 76 P.7 candidates of Kitgum Matidi Primary School in Kitgum district hangs in a balance after their head teacher reportedly embezzled money meant to pay for their requirements to sit Primary Leaving Exams (PLE).

Candidates across the country are due to sit their PLE on November 2 (Mathematics and Social Studies) and November 3 (Science and English).

But for the over 70 finalists at Kitgum Matidi PS, it might not be the case.

School head Agee Mathias Kisembo allegedly swindled funds that pupils had contributed to pay for form X, identity cards and passport-size photos.

He is alleged to have misappropriated over sh912,000.

The LC3 chairperson for Kitgum Matidi sub-county, Kenneth Oketayot Aroo, said the pupils had not received the requirements yet it is mandatory for them to have them to sit for PLE.

Meanwhile, Kitgum district deputy chief administrative officer, Thompson Obong said the angry pupils locked up the head teacher in his house until the situation calmed down after the intervention of parents and area leaders.
