Two widows Alice Nakazi and Jane Nanfuka were not around by the time Police surrounded the property but were notified. They ran to the scene only to find heavy Police deployment.

The building belonged to the late Yakobo Mukasa Mpokota Ssalongo and the two widows were married to his deceased sons.

Jane Nanfuka explained that when Mpokota died, he left 5 children including Rose Birungi, Sande Kityo, Cidon Namusoke, Paul Kato and Peter Wasswa.

She married Kato who later died together with his twin brother Wasswa as well as Namusoke. They had their share of the family property left to their children Rose Birungi and Sande Kityo who have been the administrators of the property.

"We have been getting school fees for our children from here but the property has been sold without informing us. There was not any notification about this eviction at all now I do know what to do with the orphans," Nanfuka lamented.

The eviction was effected by Moses Kirunda of Spear Auctioneers and Court Bailiffs and he said that the case has been in the Commercial Court since 2012.

The case has been between Don Ltd against Rose Birungi one of the administrators of the property and court declared Don as the owner of the property.

Kirunda said that Birungi sold a plot of land to Don at Nansana Yesu Amala where Don petrol station is and Don filed a case against her which has resulted into the loss of the house at Nansana Masitoowa.

Birungi and Kityo were not available for comment.
