The Guinness World cycling female record holder Paola Gianotti will support women cycling in Karamoja.

The Italian cyclist who on Thursday handed over 5 bicycles to Karamojong women, also appealed to women cyclists to believe in their dreams and be devoted towards achieving them by training hard.

"Believe in yourself, be devoted and believe in your dreams," Paola told the female cyclists.

Gianotti also had an exhibition ride with Uganda female riders in Kololo.

Her donation and support will be channelled through the Africa Mission Co-operation and Development (NGO) based in the region.

UOC president William Blick said that working together with Paola and Africa Mission is going to help them open up Karamoja in terms of sports development.

"There are a lot of potentials in the region and I think UCA and UOC are taking a right direction as far as development of women sports is concerned," Blick said.

UCA President Sam Muwonge Mahaba appealed to Gianotti to help his federation expand to Karamoja region.
