The She Cranes will need to work on their speed if they are to beat South Africa's Spar Proteas in the Diamond Challenge Cup in Durban on Monday.

Uganda ranked 3rd in Africa lost to South Africa's unranked youth team President's XII 55-50 in the opening match on Sunday at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

They are now scheduled to face a much experienced side and Africa's best but according to She Cranes skipper Irene Eyaru, they is still room for improvement.

"Our opponents (Presidents XII) were faster than us and that's how they managed to beat us. The scoring position was fine but we had loopholes in our defense," Eyaru stated.

But still, She Cranes shooters Racheal Nanyonga, Irene Eyaru and Stella Oyella worked tirelessly and must be commended for at least jointly scoring Uganda's consolation goals.

The trio netted almost all the balls in their possession to put Uganda on a scoring percentage of 94% against 76% but however failed to handle the speed and well positioned Presidents XII side throughout the 60 minutes.
