Efforts are being made to gather proper evidence to discipline the implicated community development officers

The Ministry of Labour, Gender and Social Development has issued a directive to Community Development Officers (CDOs) in Teso sub-region warning them to stop demanding for money from youth for group interest forms.

James Ebitu the youth livelihood national program manager observed that they have received complaints from the youth that the CDOs and the focal point persons are charging the youth money in order to get the youth interest group forms.

According to him, the forms are supposed to be given to the youth free of charge.

He added that efforts are being made to gather proper evidence to discipline the implicated community development officers and focal point persons.

Ebitu appealed to the youth to report any officer who asks money from them in order to get group interest forms.
