Dolphins dominate Fast and Furious Invitational swimming event

The Dolphins ''Fast and Furious Invitational'' that was held at Gems Cambridge International School pool had all the hallmarks of a serious competition with swimmers from ten clubs.

What started as a 'fun' swimming event could be incorporated in the Uganda Swimming Federation calendar next year after it attracted top swimmers of different age groups.

The Dolphins ''Fast and Furious Invitational'' that was held at Gems Cambridge International School pool on Saturday had all the hallmarks of a serious competition with swimmers from ten clubs.
Dolphins' swimmers led by Jordan Ssamula dominated the event winning 6 of the 8 top positions with the Seals Swim Club claiming two from the competitions held in four categories.
In the 8 and under category, Ssamula beat Seals' Carlton Musenze by 14 points with Chengze Duan who competed as an individual finishing third overall with 25 points.
Shark Teens Daniel Kayemba was second best to Dolphins' Kevin Rugaaju in the 9&Over category where John Kafumbe of the Seals came third.
The battle in the 11-12 years category was between; Dolphins' Raphael Sine who edged out Seals Christopher Musenze by 9 points, with another Seals swimmer White Ruben tying in third with Dolphins Tendo Kaumi on 26 points.

It was all a Dolphins show in the 13 and over category where Adnan Kabuye, Tendo Mukalazi, Ben Kanganda, Samora Byansi and Darren Ssamula were dominant over Makerere University's Jonathan Musana, Altona's Mubarak Ssemanda and SeaGulls' John Ssebilime and Mark Bwire.
The girls competitions were also dominated by the Dolphins save in the 9-10 years category where Seals' White Heather beat Michelle Sine and Sophia Nagayi and in the 13 and over where Seals' Anthea Mudanye and Ssinzi Nabatanzi were also ahead of Hannat Nakimuli and Davida Kenyangi of the Dolphins.
Swimmers from Acorn, Altona, Seals, Makerere University, Baseline, Shark Teens, Sailfish, Seagulls, Gliders and hosts Dolphins competed in the; Gems, Riham, Movit, Dstv and Airtel sponsored one-day event.
